C&O Bicycle shop and Hostel, Hancock Maryland on the C&O Canal [video]

Other resources: You can get to just about anything you need to know about the C&O here.
Resource for those that would rather not rough it.
Besides the C&O Bicycle shop there is Harpers Ferry Hostel as another economical place to stay.
And don't forget there is camping all along the C&O.

Like most people I live a hectic life and who has the time for much exercise? Thanks to xtracycle now I do. By using my bike for daily activities I can get things done and get an hour plus work out in 15 minutes extra of my time, not a bad deal and beats taking the extra time going to the gym. In case you are still having trouble being motivated; the National Center of Disease Control says that inactivity is the #2 killer in the United States just behind smoking. ( http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/bb_nutrition/ ) Get out there and start living life! I can carry home a full shopping cart of groceries, car pool two kids or just get lost in the great outdoors camping for a week. Well I got go, another outing this weekend.

I just want to let you know that the Hilltop House has closed, and from talking to locals has major structural problems and unlikely to reopen. (Some pricey convention type hotel is being considered). HF hostel is very nice, though the nearby Cindy Dee's Restaurant has closed. Also HF hostel has shortened its season a bit and is now open from Apr 15 - Oct 15. Groups of ten or more may be able to arrange to stay at hostel on weekends during the off season. Slight chance of hostel remaining open until Halloween. And stay incl a free pancake breakfast. -JM
