Roland Park Country School's exit policy = run over cyclists

Through conversations with the school this matter has been resolved (but I have not had opportunity to confirm.) So this post is merely to provide a public record of an encounter with an untrained person directing traffic in an unsafe manner.

The following is my original correspondence with the school:

To: Jean Waller Brune Head of Roland Park Country School

On 9/18 around 3:20 PM I was passing by your school by bicycle south bound on Roland Ave just before Deepdene Rd when a security officer employed by your school directed a car exiting the school across my path and I was barley able to avoid a very serious accident.

In the subsequent conversations with security personnel (James Mills, not the above mentioned officer) I learned that is was security

Like most people I live a hectic life and who has the time for much exercise? Thanks to xtracycle now I do. By using my bike for daily activities I can get things done and get an hour plus work out in 15 minutes extra of my time, not a bad deal and beats taking the extra time going to the gym. In case you are still having trouble being motivated; the National Center of Disease Control says that inactivity is the #2 killer in the United States just behind smoking. ( http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/bb_nutrition/ ) Get out there and start living life! I can carry home a full shopping cart of groceries, car pool two kids or just get lost in the great outdoors camping for a week. Well I got go, another outing this weekend.
