Motorcyclist dies after hitting gravel


I don James Bennet Stockett III, 25, of Edgewater died at Anne Arundel Medical Center after an accident about 6 p.m. Sunday on Route 2 near Forest Drive, police said.

Stockett was thrown from his motorcycle when he hit gravel from a construction area, said Cpl. Mark L. Shawkey, a police spokesman. He was trying to merge with traffic, and his Harley-Davidson went into a skid, police said.
