ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE MEETINGS START THIS WEEK


<img width="160" height="60" align="left" src="http://www.baltimorespokes.org/images/articles/20060727101500701_1.jpg" alt="">Phase II of the Baltimore Region Environmental Justice in Transportation Project continues to move forward as three small groups convene this week and next.

The three groups, called case study teams, are the outcome of a community workshop, held on July 8, 2006 and will focus on the following areas:

Transit Service and Reliability

Congestion and Environment

Public Participation in the Transportation Planning Process

Each of these case study groups will now begin meeting to discuss the specific topic and location to be reviewed. A list of meeting dates and times are listed below. To join a case study team, please attend one of the upcoming meetings or contact the case study group leader.

Case Study Team #1: Transit Service - Thursday, July 27, 2006 at Baltimore City Hall (100 N. Holliday Street) at 6:30 p.m. Contact Leon Purnell at 410-614-5353 or themenscenter@hotmail.com.

Like most people I live a hectic life and who has the time for much exercise? Thanks to xtracycle now I do. By using my bike for daily activities I can get things done and get an hour plus work out in 15 minutes extra of my time, not a bad deal and beats taking the extra time going to the gym. In case you are still having trouble being motivated; the National Center of Disease Control says that inactivity is the #2 killer in the United States just behind smoking. ( http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/bb_nutrition/ ) Get out there and start living life! I can carry home a full shopping cart of groceries, car pool two kids or just get lost in the great outdoors camping for a week. Well I got go, another outing this weekend.
