Hit & run on Route 28 - Monocacy Bridge
I am writing this on my behalf of my father, Dwight McNeill, an active biker in the Maryland area. My father was hit on his bike by a pick up truck carrying a horse trailer on Saturday, July 22nd, at approximately 8:00am. The accident occurred on Route 28 North just over the Dickerson/Frederick line and before the Monocacy bridge. The truck did NOT stop and was presumably on its way to the Maryland Horse Trials at Loch Moy Farm. My father has three broken vertebrae, a broken scapula and is covered in bruises and black and blues. He was transferred to a rehab center today where he will learn to walk again and care for himself independently.
