Tour du Port – October 4th 2009 – Baltimore's Premier Bicycle Event. Join thousands of riders at Baltimore's Canton Waterfront Park to kick off the 16th Annual Tour du Port! Routes range from a 12 mile ride to a new half Century, 50 mile ride! The Tour route travels through many historic neighborhoods, waterfront areas and parks. This fully supported Tour includes lunch, refreshments at rest stops, map, SAG and a post-ride celebration at the Tour's end. Tour is One Less Car’s annual fundraiser - all fees go directly to advancing the programs and advocacy efforts of One Less Car, a non-profit organization dedicated to walking, bicycling and mass transit in Maryland.

ONE LESS CAR (OLC) MID JULY UPDATE
One Less Car works throughout Maryland to reduce automobile congestion and pollution by decreasing car usage. Our goal is to help people get to where they need to go efficiently. OLC works to increase walking, biking, carpooling, public transit, telecommuting, and flex scheduling opportunities. These smart transit choices promote physical activity, emotional and physical well-being, social interaction, livable communities, equity and environmental stewardship.

Are you interested in volunteering? One Less Car (OLC) is a non-profit organization and we need your help. We want to meet you! Discussion will center on Tour du Port coordination with review of the event checklist. The Tour du Port is Baltimore's Premier Bicycling Event and One Less Car's Annual Fundraiser. The event takes place October 4th and 2000 registrants are expected. If you have an interest in volunteering, OLC can find a task to suit you! Are you a social marketing expert? The development of a face book page and twitter are two of our priorities. Do you have experience or interest in supporting OLC with any of these tasks: event logistics, food set up, sponsorship, advertising, flyer distribution, registration, rest stops, music coordination, grant writing, fundraising, marketing, writing, community outreach, program development, administrative tasks and more? Please sign up to help the day of the Tour du Port!

She hit a deer at high speed, it was killed, and she has some fractures and other facial injuries. She is in the hospital in Charlottesville, VA. She can talk but is very swollen.
She will likely transfer to Baltimore in a day or two.
More as I hear it.
While old news this is still a cool picture of One Less Car's victory of bike racks on buses.
