As an avid cyclist myself, I am very pleased to report that we passed a bill this year requiring vehicles passing bicycles on the road to provide a 3-foot buffer for safety. There have been far too many bike-related fatalities in Baltimore City recently, and this measure will help make biking — whether for pleasure, commuting, or any other purpose – a safer experience.
