Yes! Friday Morning Ride

Folks!

Meet in front of City Hall by 9:00 AM this Friday, for a ride to Droodle… that’s up thru Bolton Hill, Druid Hill Lake and Park, the Jones Falls Trail, then back Clipper Mill and Falls Roads. (That’ll trim the cookin’ off ya’s.)

Like most people I live a hectic life and who has the time for much exercise? Thanks to xtracycle now I do. By using my bike for daily activities I can get things done and get an hour plus work out in 15 minutes extra of my time, not a bad deal and beats taking the extra time going to the gym. In case you are still having trouble being motivated; the National Center of Disease Control says that inactivity is the #2 killer in the United States just behind smoking. ( http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/bb_nutrition/ ) Get out there and start living life! I can carry home a full shopping cart of groceries, car pool two kids or just get lost in the great outdoors camping for a week. Well I got go, another outing this weekend.

how long / intense is the route?? speed? I'm in town visiting from Toronto.. brought my road bike.. thinking of coming out for this but a little hesitant as i have no idea what im getting into.
I believe the route is close to 10 miles, the pace can vary depending on who shows up, possibly some will be going ~15mph but generally the main group is closer to 12-13mph. Intensity is hard to describe, it's moderate if you are used to transversing a hilly city otherwise short sections can be intense. I plan on being there (the guy with the long bike) and I would be happy to add a few more miles with you if you would like.

Baltimore Bicycling Club also has a couple of rides on Friday http://baltobikeclub.org/index.pl/schedulea
The long ride category are faster pace more intense rides and the short rides are a bit more laid back ~12mph - 15mph range.
I'll note the long ride start is close to the last Light Rail stop in Hunt Valley but I assume the short ride would be more your cup of tea and that information follows sans ride leader contact info which can be found on the Baltimore Bike Club web site.

all pace short - 10:00 am - 32 mi
