SHA Public Workshop for I-795 Pleasant Hill interchange
This area and proposal greatly affects my daily commute. I-795 is basically an East/West barrier with very few cut throughs. Almost all of these cut throughs (McDonough, Painters Mill, Owings Mills blvd) are very high speed roads with no shoulders and intermittant or non-existant sidewalks. Baltimore Co. continues to add more roads in this neighborhood which are similarly bike/ped threatening. Pleasant hill rd. is the only way across that is still a smaller country rd. with some shoulder for bikes. It may become a highway exit ramp very soon.
Here is the description of the purpose of the workshop:
“... to familiarize interested citizens with the project Planning Process and the Project’s Purpose and Need, present current findings of the environmental studies, and display and receive comments on the preliminary alternatives.
The project is being presented in an interactive open-house format. Each attendee will be able to conduct a self-paced review of important project information. You will have the opportunity to visit project displays that include maps decpicting the preliminary alternatives under consideration, traffic data, and environment impacts. Project team members will be available to receive comments and answer questions however, there will be no formal presentation at the worksop.
The public is encouraged to provide input on the range of preliminary alternatives for this project. The project team will use those comments to help determine which of the alternatives will be retained for the next phase of study for detailed anylysis.“
