Volunteer for Tour du Port

I would like to invite you to join One Less Car as a volunteer on October 5th, 2008. We will host our 15th annual Tour du Port bicycle ride and fundraiser. The ride, which will start and finish at the Canton Waterfront Park at 3001 Boston Street, we will close the ride at 2000 byclists.

To ensure the success of this ride One Less Car is seeking volunteers to participate as Route Marshals and Rest stop workers along the Tour du Port route. Benefits of volunteering include a Tour du Port long sleeve shirt, good food, and a fun time!
THE FIRST STEP: POSITIONS AVAILABLE

Registration Volunteer: Help get everyone on the road for Tour du Port. Early registration volunteers can ride the route after their shift.

Route Marshal: Direct riders along the course and offer encouragement while enjoying the sights and sounds of Baltimore. Route Marshals will be stationed in pairs along the entire length of Tour du Port.

Rest Stop Worker: Be the most popular person at Tour du Port! Assist setting up and serving fruit, snacks and water to hungry and thirsty riders.

Ride Marshal: Cyclists experienced in bike repair and first aid are needed to patrol the route, assist changing flats, make adjustments, and help course marshals direct the ride.

THE NEXT STEP: REGISTER

Like most people I live a hectic life and who has the time for much exercise? Thanks to xtracycle now I do. By using my bike for daily activities I can get things done and get an hour plus work out in 15 minutes extra of my time, not a bad deal and beats taking the extra time going to the gym. In case you are still having trouble being motivated; the National Center of Disease Control says that inactivity is the #2 killer in the United States just behind smoking. ( http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/bb_nutrition/ ) Get out there and start living life! I can carry home a full shopping cart of groceries, car pool two kids or just get lost in the great outdoors camping for a week. Well I got go, another outing this weekend.
