Saturday Morning Road Bike Ride

Bike Doctor of Linthicum has extended an open-invitation Saturday Morning road bike ride since 1998. The ride takes place year round, and it is rarely cancelled for weather.

The route has remained the same for the last four years so riders can "pick-up" the group if they miss the official start. Signed liability waivers are required to participate, as well as a safety check on your bike and a helmet on your head!

The ride begins @ 8:00-8:15 AM from the store and travels approximately 30 miles. The route starts clockwise around the Thurgood G. Marshall - BWI Airport on the BWI Trail and then traverses the backroads of Linthicum, Hanover, Elkridge and Severn.

We finish at the store around 10:00 AM and enjoy Jittery Joe's coffee and goodies that riders bring in. Typically the pace is from 16-19 mph, and there is a rest stop @ 20 miles. There are several places to shorten the ride if the need arises. Please call or email for details if you would like to join us. Test rides of new bikes are welcome on the Saturday Morning road bike ride.

Like most people I live a hectic life and who has the time for much exercise? Thanks to xtracycle now I do. By using my bike for daily activities I can get things done and get an hour plus work out in 15 minutes extra of my time, not a bad deal and beats taking the extra time going to the gym. In case you are still having trouble being motivated; the National Center of Disease Control says that inactivity is the #2 killer in the United States just behind smoking. ( http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/bb_nutrition/ ) Get out there and start living life! I can carry home a full shopping cart of groceries, car pool two kids or just get lost in the great outdoors camping for a week. Well I got go, another outing this weekend.
