Option number 5 makes no sense:

"I obey the law regardless of whether I think I'll get caught or have an accident--and I don't like having to constantly think about whether I am breaking the law as I try to ride safely"

Don't you mean, "I ride safely/carefully regardless of whether I think I'll get caught for not obeying an unsafe law" OR "I obey the law regardless of whether I think I'll have an accident"?

Personally, I ride as law-abidingly as possible, but not at the expense of my own safety, therefore, I have to ignore the mandatory shoulder/bike lane law.
