No biking to school

Bike to School (or Not) - [MDOT's Director of Bicycle and Pedestrian Access] Michael Jackson informed the members that school principals in Maryland reportedly flatly refuse to allow students to walk or bike to school or will not provide support for bike safety education programs [WC: Yes, you read that right]. In response a proposal to survey attitudes of school principals and administrators toward student walking and biking and publishing the results is being considered. Michael Jackson also mentioned that Nancy Breen, a researcher at the National Institutes of Health, provided information on a possible NIH grant to fund such a study. http://www.thewashcycle.com/2009/02/october-2008-mbpac-meeting-notes.html

Like most people I live a hectic life and who has the time for much exercise? Thanks to xtracycle now I do. By using my bike for daily activities I can get things done and get an hour plus work out in 15 minutes extra of my time, not a bad deal and beats taking the extra time going to the gym. In case you are still having trouble being motivated; the National Center of Disease Control says that inactivity is the #2 killer in the United States just behind smoking. I can carry home a full shopping cart of groceries, car pool two kids or just get lost in the great outdoors camping for a week. Well I got go, another outing this weekend.
