Earth Week Events Monday, April 20th

Composting Made Easy and Cheap Class

7:00 pm in the Cafe Free

To kick off our Earth Week celebration Mark "Coach" Smallwood, Whole Foods Market Green Mission Specialist/Local Forager will be talking about backyard composting with a handout that explains the do and don'ts. He will also teach everyone how to make a compost bin for less than $20!

Genji Earth Day Promotion

Earth Week

Try Genji's new Vegan Sweet Chili Tofu Roll and they will be donating 10% of sales of this item during the first week of sales to the Natural Resources Defense Council, an organization which Whole Foods Market  supports through the "Better Bag" project with Cheryl Crow.

Green, Local and Sustainable Cooking Class

7:00 pm in the Cafe Free

Zeke, our Demo Specialist, will be teaching this class geared towards being "green". Learn about local, organic, fair trade and sustainable foods. Zeke will show you how to prepare some delicious foods and will have samples and recipes for all participants.

Ecological House Cleaning Class

7:00pm in the Cafe Free

This class will be taught by Ecolistic Cleaning professionals. Learn why it is critical to clean your home with non-toxic products and practices. Learn how it can be easy and effective to make your own cleaning solutions. This is a hands on class! Make sample cleaning products and take them home to try!

Green Children's Book Reading, Signing and Activity

11:00am to 1:00 pm in the Cafe Free

Author Edward Faine reads and discusses his picture book AIDAN SAVES THE WORLD FROM GLOBAL WARMING.  Kids can share their tips for saving trees, water, electicity and car gas with Mr. Faine; and crayon black and white pictures from his book. Books will be for sale and the author will be happy to sign them for the kids or if you'd like a great gift for a favorite kid, please consider buying one and having the author sign it for them.

Recycled Art Show & Giving Grill

Show 11:00 am-6:00 pm on the Patio and Grilling 12:00-5:00 pm

This is our second year for this fun art show. Whole Foods Market has some very talented artists and they will be displaying their artwork made of recycled materials on the Patio. Artwork will be for sale with all proceeds  going to the Jones Falls Watershed Association.

Join us too for grilling from noon-5 to benefit Jones Falls Watershed Association. Representatives will be here to give you information about their group and there'll be fun for the kids too.
